I arrived at Skypark at 6:45.

I got into some good games with Larry, Paul and his friend Matt. We could see our breath. It is December, after all!

Notable tonight was Paul and Matt beat Larry and me. That was unexpected, but goes to show the gradual improvement of the two. When they won, I told them, “Congratulations!” Larry has only a year under his belt, but I consider him a solid intermediate player.

The lights clicked off at 9:30. Time to go home.

What did I learn?

I slammed 3-4 popped up balls into my side of the net in my exuberance. I did well with my serves. I think I only missed 1-2 all night and I wasn’t holding back on my serves. But overall, I didn’t like my level of play. Too many mistakes.

Arm

Holding pattern. If I place my right palm on my chest over my heart and press, I feel noticeable pain in my elbow—maybe a 5 or 6 on a scale of 1 to 10 (most painful). I’ve been dodging a bullet so far in that it doesn’t bother me while playing . . . with some minor exceptions for some outings.
