The author of this site/blog, Andrew Lenz Jr., is a USA Pickleball Ambassador, a (now backup) Site Coordinator and Secretary on the board for the Santa Cruz Pickleball Club, and has been officially recognized by PPR as a “Certified Pickleball Coach” and teaches local classes. (You can read some testimonials with regard to my coaching.)

Andrew lives with his wife Kristen in Santa Cruz, California with their corgis, Oliver and Pepper. Andrew’s and Kristen’s two kids, Nicholas and Charlotte, have left the nest. Nicholas graduated from from UCLA cum laude in Applied Mathematics and finished up a Masters in EE Machine Learning from Duke University and Charlotte graduated from Tufts University and now in medical school at Burrell College in Las Cruces, New Mexico working to become a Doctor of Osteopathy with the dream of becoming a surgeon. (Yeah, they are pretty bright kids.)

After a brief time as a software engineer writing hardware drivers, Andrew left cubicles and earns his living selling art materials and picture framing with the help of his dedicated staff. While not a top bagpiper, Andrew is accidentally famous in the piping world—quite literally around the globe—for his bagpipe reference website, BagpipeJourney.com.
