Here I sit, knowing that pickleball is going on right now without me. It’s Wednesday and my right big toe is strained enough to have kept me hobbling for the last few days. It’s gradually improving, at least. The first night it woke me up 2-3 times due to the pain caused by pushing up on my toe in my sleep. At the dining room table last night, my wife Kristen suggested going to a podiatrist. But you know what men are like with doctors. Just rub some dirt on it and it’ll be fine. Though if it doesn’t heal up in a reasonable amount of time, I’ll bite the bullet and see a doctor.
At this rate, I’ll have to miss tomorrow night as well. I hoping that this won’t drag out for weeks. Aside from it hurting to walk, I really want to get out and play!
Maybe I can do some drilling in my garage without having to move too much. There are only so many pickleball videos you can watch on YouTube before you go batty.
I’m just thankful that this didn’t happen right before a tournament. Not that I’ve ever been to a pickleball tournament, but still, that would really be a major disappointment.
