Monday, June 1, 2020 (Court Day #345)

Last night, I contacted Binh about playing this morning, we arranged for two other people, Josh (older, not younger) and Stuart, to round out our doubles game.

I arrived at Brommer Park a little before 9 a.m., our planned time. Binh was warming up with Josh.

Josh, Chuck, Tim, Binh, Dean, Stuart and half of Uli.

Before long, we were in a game with Dean. Dean was nursing some injuries but even then was taking it easy on us.

I didn’t play as well as yesterday. Even Chuck noticed. “You’ve made more mistakes in the last 10 minutes than 10 games yesterday!”

Still, I had some decent play. Binh and I played Kevin and his wife Bev and it was a good game. Honestly, I can’t recall if we won or lost, but we were up late in the game. Not bad for me playing lefty, right?

I continued to be careful about COVID and wiped down my hands and paddle between games. I did touch my face a few times, but I never touched my eyes or inside my nose. Still, it’s a bit like Russian Roulette. But instead of six chambers in the revolver, there are a thousand—or many thousands. There’s no way to completely eliminate risk, but one might say the same about going to the grocery store.

We wrapped up play shortly after noon. I headed home to make a run to the dump with the tree trimmings from yesterday. Back to work tomorrow.
