Tuesday, November 2 , 2021 (Court Day #429)
I walked into Skypark at 6:53 p.m. It was dark. It was busy and I helped set up a sixth court, it’s was Paul’s portable net that he brought.
I had two great games with an older man named Dan against John (ceramics guy) and Matt, the young guy. Those were really, really challenging and fun games. We had some long rallies in those two games. In rec play, most points are over in 3-7 shots. Some of these were 10-15 shots and they were stretches to reach, John had an ATP, etc. Fun, fun. The best games of the last month. John is really coming along. Solid 3.5 player.
It was very lightly—but constantly—misting tonight. It was like a billowing fog.
The last three games were Paul and Matt against Dan M. and me. With Dan as the newest player, it made sense to pair him with me, the most experienced. Paul and Matt took up pickleball during the last year.
The lights clicked off just a couple minutes after we finished our third game.
11. I counted the number of times that I hit a ball into the white net tape. Well, that’s obviously an area that I need to work on!
